Street rehabilitation in Marion

The City of Marion has announced the beginning of the first phase for a street rehabilitation project.

The project was made possible by the Rebuild Alabama Act (RAA) Grant Program with match funding from the city's gasoline taxes. It will cover Mayfair Park, parts of Pickens and Early Street.

A post on the City of Marion's social media page advises residents to shop local to continue funding these kinds of projects.

"We are continuously working on grants to improve the conditions of additional city streets," said the post. "Please note the purchase of fuel within our community assists in the rehabilitation of our roadways. So, don't forget to shop local as much as possible so, that we can continue to rehabilitate our community streets."
