City of Montgomery taking volunteers for warming center

The City of Montgomery is taking volunteers for a warming center located at the Multiplex at Crampton Bowl from Monday through Thursday, Jan. 23. 

This week's extreme winter events has prompted a number of warming centers to open throughout the Black Belt region. 

See here for a list of centers that have opened. 

The City of Montgomery is seeking shelter attendants, as well as volunteers for mail distribution, hygiene and sanitation, and information and referral. 

Volunteers must be 18 or older, able to work flexible hours including evenings, committed to providing "respectful" care and have good communication skills.
