The City of Selma is hosting a Stars & Stripes Fourth of July event at Riverfront Park that will include fireworks after dark.
The July 4 event starts at 4 p.m. with a Stars & Stripes Honor Parade. The parade, which is in partnership with the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce, recognizes first responders, essential workers and medical professionals.
Villages featuring food, art, health and community will also open at 4 p.m.
City officials will host a grand opening for the splash pad at Riverfront Park at 5 p.m. and allow children ages 3-10 to play in small group intervals.
The riverfront amphitheater will have music and activities will be held around the area starting at 5 p.m.
A Bicentennial Concert & Celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m. to celebrate the incorporation of Selma as a city on Dec. 4, 1820.
