Author and documentarian William Waheed will speak at a luncheon to be held by the Selma Dallas County Public Library on Jan. 23 at 12:30 p.m.

Waheed is the author of “The Courageous EIGHT: Hidden Figures of the 1965 Voting Rights Movement”. He produced the documentary, “DOYLE”, about a World War II veteran who was active in the Dallas County Voters League and the NAACP.

The event will also commemorate black war veterans and the 100th anniversary of the Dallas County Voters League, which was founded in the 1920’s.

The public is invited to this event at the Vaughn Meeting Room of the Selma Dallas County Public Library at 1103 Selma Avenue.
