Today is one of four new dates set by the Dallas County Health Department to offer the COVID vaccine to those eligible in Selma.
The drive-through clinics will be held each Thursday in February starting Feb. 4 for those 75 and up in the first phase on a first-come, first-serve basis at Bloch Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Clinics after Thursday's will include two phases of eligible people, those ages 65 and up and educators. Those dates are Feb. 11, 18 and 25.
No appointment is needed and it will be handled as a drive through 108 Dallas Avenue in Selma.
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has launched an online portal for individuals to check their eligibility for vaccination and make appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at county health departments.
Alabama’s COVID-19 Vaccination Allocation Plan, which can be viewed by clicking
a box on the portal, was developed by working with stakeholders and following guidance provided by the federal government. For general information about COVID-19, the COVID-19 Information Hotline number is 1-800-270-7268.
