Dallas County Juvenile Detention Director Marcus Hannah named VP of state juvenile detention board

Marcus Hannah

Marcus Hannah, the director of Camp Perry Varner Educational and Treatment Center in Dallas County, has been named vice president of the state’s juvenile detention board.

Camp Perry Varner is a juvenile detention center that opened in 2000. It was named after Perry Varner, a former Dallas County Commissioner who worked to help wayward youth in Dallas County. At-risk youth are referred to this facility for a minimum of eight weeks to receive treatment and training, according to the Dallas County website.

Hannah reported that the camp regularly receives perfect scores on state audits. He praised his team, saying, “Without them, there would be no me, there would be no Dallas County Commission working with the kids.”
