Dallas County School Board has reinstated Superintendent Anthony Sampson after a month-long suspension.
The Dallas County School Board voted in executive session on April 25 to put Superintendent Anthony Sampson on paid administrative leave as they conducted an investigation into issues related to employee relationships.
In a press release issued May 3, board attorney Malika Fortier said there is an investigation that "arose from complaints concerning how the superintendent and other administrative leaders communicate with school personnel and subsequent actions."
Bridgette Carter, who is over special education services, served as acting superintendent.Â
Sampson took over as superintendent in June 2022 after the retirement of longtime leader Hatti Shelton. He spent almost 24 years with the Baldwin County Public Schools, with much of his experience as director of prevention and support.
