AHSAA Football playoff brackets, first round schedule

The Selma High flag football team rolled to a 33-0 win over Loveless Academic Magnet Program on Tuesday in Montgomery, dominating on both sides of the ball. 

Quarterback McKenzie Carter had a standout night, throwing for 70 yards and five touchdowns while also adding a 65-yard rushing performance with a score on the ground. 

Freshman Jaterrica Jackson hauled in two touchdown catches, while Safiya White and Rod’neisha Parker each grabbed one. White also contributed on defense with an interception, adding to her all-around impact. 

The defense kept LAMP scoreless, racking up five sacks and four interceptions. Parker led the unit with nine tackles and two interceptions, while Chasity Brown, Ava Woods, Francis Wilson, Aubrey Moore, and Markia Brooks all chipped in sacks. Senior Amiya Rodgers added two interceptions to help seal the shutout. 

With the win, Selma showed off balance on offense and defense, controlling the game from start to finish and improving their momentum in conference play.
