Funeral arrangements have been announced for fallen Bibb County Sheriff Deputy Brad Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty on June 29.
Johnson will be laid to rest Friday following a public visitation at the University of Montevallo Student Activity Center from 9 to 11:15 a.m. The funeral service will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m.
After the burial, there will be a procession to Centreville and residents are encouraged to line the route of the procession to express their support for Johnson and his family.
Johnson died after being shot while pursuing a suspect in a stolen vehicle in the Brierfield community on June 29. He was taken to UAB with a head wound where he died. His partner, Chris Poole, was also shot but was treated at DCH in Tuscaloosa and released.
Suspect Austin Patrick Hall was on the run after the shoot but was found and arrested by officers of the U.S. Marshal Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.Â
After his death, Johnson’s family donated his organs as part of the Legacy of Hope organization.
