Selma is slated to get a new restaurant on Highland Avenue.

Huddle House has submitted plans to the city of Selma to build a 2,200-square-foot restaurant where Central Park currently stands at Marie Foster Street and Highland Avenue.

Central Park’s 684-square-foot building will be demolished for the new construction of the Huddle House. It will also include 43 parking spots. Central Park has been closed since 2012.

Huddle House officials did not return requests for more details by press time. Huddle House is a chain that opened in Decatur, Ga., more than 50 years ago and now has restaurants in 24 states, including 37 in Alabama.
