The month of June is Special Clean-Up Month for residents of District 1 in Troy where the standard pickup fee will be waived for certain items.
The Environmental Sciences Department will conduct the cleanup where furniture, appliances, junk autos and others cand be discarded without the fee normally applied for oversized loads.
"Fence companies, tree surgeons, pulpwood contractors, nurseries and landscape contractors are to remove debris after completing work on private premises," said a statement on the City of Troy's social media.
Items can be put out on regular garbage pickup days or by contacting 311 at 566-0177 to schedule pickups.
Residents, churches and civic groups are encouraged to plan neighborhood cleanups in January to effectively schedule personnel and equipment.
District 1 is represented by Councilor Sharon McSwain-Holland.Â
