Adam Booth will be the featured storyteller at the upcoming Kathryn Tucker Windham Tale Tellin' Festival on Oct. 16.Â
"Booth blends traditional mountain folklore, music, and a contemporary Appalachian voice to create original, forward-thinking story artistry," said a press release for the event. "His program The Heron’s Journey has been selected for the 2024–2025 Mid-Atlantic Arts Touring Roster."
"A nationally touring artist, Booth has performed at premiere storytelling venues across the U.S., including the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, the International Storytelling Center, and the National Storytelling Festival. He is also the inaugural Storyteller-in-Residence at Shepherd University and the founding artistic director of Speak Story Series."
Charlie Lucas, a friend of Windham, will emcee the Tale Tellin' Festival and will also lead the Tellin' in the Schools event that blends storytelling with visual arts for young audiences.Â
