The Kiwanis Club of Montgomery recently celebrated the anniversary of one of its long serving members.

Jerry Spencer celebrated his 50th year in the club. He has served as chairman of the program committee and as a director on the board of directors of the Alabama National Fair, said a post on the club's Facebook page.

Club members recently gave a presentation on Spencer and his time as part of the Kiwanis.

"In his presentation to Jerry, Henry Frazer explained that Kiwanis is thankful for dedicated members like Jerry who give so much of themselves to Kiwanis and our community," said the post.

The Alabama National Fair sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery and others is ongoing until Oct. 15.
