Stars fell on Selma Sunday as cast members from “Castle Falls” attended the Selma Premier of the film (an action packed thriller, filmed in Birmingham AL and directed by Dolph Lundgren, star of "Rocky,” "Universal Soldier,” etc.).

Five of the Alabama actors fellowshipped with movie goers at a reception held at the Walton Theater Selma before the viewing.

Actor Robert Berlin, who plays bad guy, Damion Glass, was excited to be in Selma and says to look forward to more projects like this one. Kevin Wayne stepped on to the Selma red carpet with his mother smiling, exclaiming their excitement about being able to attend and about being a part of the film.

The youngest two Selma-Dallas County locals, Pearla Sanchez and Luis Valencia, noted that they’d definitely do something like this again. Sanchez is a 2022 graduate of Dallas County High School and Valencia is now a sophomore there.

The host and actor with her own scene in the movie, Selma’s very own, Alicia Chestnut, exuded perfect hometown hospitality and ended with a beautiful thank-you note. She executed excellently from beginning to end, leaving no stone unturned to provide this top tier event.

Movie-goers shared in all of the energy and fun the day provided. Laughter filled the air during the chat and mingle session and continued into the funny parts of the film. “Dollar Bill” Lawson, who worked in Selma in the 1970s, returned for the film and couldn’t stop talking about how thrilled he and his wife were to be back. He worked at WHBB radio. So many of the locals expressed their gratitude and support. Truly, love was in the air.

It was definitely a night to remember. Definitely a fine evening with the stars. Right here at home, on a Sunday.
