Marion Mayor Dexter Hinton will face Travis Perkins in a runoff Sept. 23.

Hinton received 488 votes (45%), and Perkins received 388 votes. Chadrick Moore received 152 votes and Fairest Cureton 102.

In District 1, Jeremy Arrington won with 167 votes to Janet Cole’s 65. District 2 will see a runoff between incumbent Tommy Leon Kennie with 109 votes and Edd Miree with 70 votes. Lakeisha Shaw received 65 votes.

Ann Lecroy unseated incumbent Charles Sanders in District 3. Lecroy received 79 votes, and Sanders got 56 votes. In District 4, incumbent Willie Jackson won with 126 votes. Vinnie Royster received 92 votes. Stanley Kennie won District 5 with 155 votes over Sharon Horton with 78 votes and Joe Frazer with 12.
