Mike and Whitney Ross of Selma win third place in Alabama Catfish Series tournament at Selma Landing

The Alabama Catfish Series tournament drew a crowd of participants and spectators at Selma Marina on Saturday.

Mike and Whitney Ross of Selma won third place in the Alabama Catfish Series tournament at Selma Marina on May 22.

The Ross’ total of 54.2 pounds and 32.2 as their biggest fish landed them a $180 prize.

Lonnie and Donnie Fountain of Jasper, Ga., took first place with a total weight of 82.2 pounds. That earned them $1,080. Their big fish was a whopping 42.6 pounds, which was the tournament big fish and paid an additional $360. Second place went to John Howard and Brad Box of Caledonia, Miss., with 54.8 pounds total weight and 31.2 big fish and a payout of $540. Eighteen boats fished the tournament.
