Montgomery Fire and Rescue's (MFR) Health and Wellness Assistant Chief Stanley L. Cooper has retired after 36 years of service.Â
According to an announcement from MFR Cooper began in 1989 and since then served as firefighter, fire suppression officer, training officer, fire medic, station captain, and district supervisor.
In addition to being the Health and Wellness Assistant Chief he has also been a Public Information Officer and social media manager.Â
"Chief Cooper’s career embodies courage, adaptability, and a deep commitment to both his fellow firefighters and the citizens of Montgomery," said the announcement.Â
"As he steps into retirement, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his decades of dedication and service. Please join us in wishing Chief Cooper a joyful, healthy, and well‑earned retirement!"
