The Montgomery County Commission has installed 14 "Little Free Libraries" in an effort to encourage reading among residents.

The "libraries" are small, weatherproof boxes where residents can take a book and leave one for others to read.

“Reading and literacy are important for residents of all ages,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “By installing these new Little Free Libraries, we are promoting literacy and fostering and increased sense of community across Montgomery County!”

The libraries are located at all three Montgomery County Probate/Revenue Annexes, the downtown Courthouse complex, and all County Parks & Recreation facilities.

The books that are intended for all ages are donated by the Montgomery City/County Public Library System and the Little Free Library organization.
