A member of the Montgomery Fire/Rescue (MFR) was honored by the department for his effort in saving the life of a woman.

Sgt. Darin Boyd had only been promoted to the rank of Sergeant for a few days when he and his team were called to an emergency in which a woman had gone into cardiac arrest.

As it turned out she is the grandmother of another department firefighter.

"Sgt. Boyd’s quick thinking and expertise not only saved a life but also deeply touched one of our own families," said the MFR on social media. "We’re thrilled to report that she is now improving and doing well today!"
