Two firefighters with the Montgomery Fire/Rescue department were recognized for their efforts in responding to a recent medical emergency.

Sergeant Johnny Rudolph and Firefighter Jamal Taylor were honored when they came to the rescue of a resident who was in "serious" condition, said a post on social media by the department.

"Sergeant Rudolph provided patient care in a calm, professional manner while Firefighter Taylor assisted with obtaining vital signs and other assignments while preparing the patient for transport to the hospital due to a prolonged ambulance response," the post says.

Their efforts resulted in the patient being successfully delivered for treatment. The patient's family asked that they be acknowledged.

"The actions and decisions made by the medical team left a significant impression on the patient’s family and assured them that their loved one was in good hands," the post added.
