A man has been arrested by Montgomery police following a shooting that left a juvenile girl with critical injuries. 

According to WSFA, John Turner, 29, has been arrested for the shooting, which took place around 5:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Terminal Road on Monday. 

The victim reportedly told investigators that she was walking along the road with her boyfriend when a vehicle appeared and two men exited to give chase. 

The girl was shot a number of times during the chase in which eight bullet cases were found on the scene. 

The vehicle was later found and Turner arrested, though the second suspect remains at large. Turner was previously the subject of a capital murder case in 2017 but was acquitted. 

Turner has been charged with firs degree assault and was placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.
