MONTANA — Police officers, firefighters and first responders are in high demand across Montana as agencies work to fill various roles in 2026. Â
While these positions are the primary focus, numerous other opportunities are available as well. Â
In Cascade County, the Sheriff's Office is actively searching for school resource deputies to enhance the safety of teachers and students. Â
Sheriff Jesse Slaughter emphasized the importance of having trained officers in schools. Â
"For a long time, we've relied on passive security measures. Locked doors, buzzers, different types of systems like this. Now we're committed to putting a professional, armed, highly trained law enforcement officer in your school," said Sheriff Slaughter. Â
Meanwhile, in Bozeman, the local fire department has recently launched efforts to recruit more firefighters. Â
Gallatin County is also on the lookout for a new 911 records clerk. Â
Throughout the state, both law enforcement agencies and medical service providers are eager to recruit more personnel. Â
The Missoula Police Department's Public Information Officer, Whitney Bennett, shared the department's commitment to community safety. Â
"We want to make a difference in our community; we want to help protect our community, provide that safety, security, and get involved," said Bennett. Â
This is just a glimpse of the available positions across Montana. Additional job listings can be found on career boards or online platforms like Indeed. Â
Interested individuals are encouraged to visit their local agency to pick up an application.Â
