Cops had "no chill" when they stopped a Mercedes with a fridge freezer strapped to the roof of the car.

Officers pulled the driver over as the car traveled on the northbound carriageway of the M6 in Staffordshire.

It followed numerous calls from worried motorists who reported an "insecure load about to fall off" onto the highway.

Officers reported the driver and they were educated about highway safety.

Police shared pictures of the large fridge packaged and strapped to the roof of the car.

Posting on X, StaffsRCT said: "This vehicle was stopped northbound on the #M6 following numerous calls of an insecure load about to fall off.

"This is definitely not the way to secure a fridge freezer for transportation.

"Driver reported and educated accordingly. #OpLightning Team 1."
