GREAT FALLS, Mont. - A Malmstrom Air Force Base Tech Sergeant has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving child sexual abuse material, according to the Cascade County Sheriff's Office.
41-year-old Jeremy Alan Weber was taken into custody after an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
Detectives said they received 386 Cyber Tipline reports from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The reports included images of children being sexually abused, some as young as infants and toddlers.
Investigators, working with internet service providers and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, traced the activity to Weber’s residence at Malmstrom. Detectives executed a search warrant on Sept. 12 and arrested Weber.
He has been charged with 10 felony counts of sexual abuse of children for knowingly possessing visual material depicting minors engaged in sexual conduct. Weber is being held in the Cascade County Detention Center on a $400,000 bond.
"The protection of children from exploitation and abuse remains one of our highest priorities," said Sheriff Jesse Slaughter. "We will continue to work diligently with our federal partners to investigate these serious crimes and hold offenders accountable."
NonStop Local reached out to Malmstrom Air Force Base for comment, this is what they said: “We are aware of the incident potentially involving an Airman assigned to Malmstrom AFB. The situation is currently under investigation by the Cascade County Sherriff's Office. Due to the sensitive nature of the allegations, we cannot provide any further information at this time.”
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information related to the case to contact detectives.
