Trapped two-day-old kitten rescued from inside police car engine

A two-day-old kitten has been rescued from a police car - after being trapped in the engine.

Officers at Crownhill Police Station in Devon noticing a faint 'meow' coming from one of the response team's vehicles on Sunday (Oct. 19).

Despite their best efforts, they were unable to reach the source of the noise, which was coming from deep within the car’s wheel arch.

As the police officers were not equipped to strip the car they had to go down to their local Kwik-Fit on Tavistock Road branch.

There the staff was able to save the day and rescue the two-year-old kitten from deep within the wheel arch.

The rescued animal was taken to the local People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) for a health check and was found to be in good condition.

Plympton Police said on social media: "We can only think that at some point the kittens mother had climbed into the dry area and given birth to this fluffy little outlaw!

"A quick trip to the amazing folks at PDSA and the kitten (name yet to be confirmed) was given the once over and found to be quite healthy.

"She is now being looked after and has been adopted by a local officer. Many thanks to the lads at Kwik-Fit who helped avoid a CATastrophe!

"And a big shout out to the PDSA for their help. Thanks to them the kitten will be FELINE much better soon!

"So now the conundrum is what to name her?! Answers welcome in the comments section!"
