(The Center Square) – U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., criticized President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, accusing them of working together to dismantle key government agencies that protect consumers, workers, and the environment.

Raskin highlighted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which he claimed has been "de facto shut down" because of Musk’s influence. Altogether CFPB has saved Americans $15 billion and returned $17.5 billion to consumers since 2011.

"The EPA ensures clean air and water, and the Labor Department safeguards union rights," Raskin stated. "It’s disgraceful that they want to overturn vital regulations in secrecy. If I were voting to remove safety standards for infant seats and bathtubs, I wouldn’t want anyone to know either."
