A portion of the Black Belt is under a marginal risk for severe weather today between 1 p.m. and into the afternoon hours.

A brief tornado and damaging winds up to 60 mph is possible under a marginal risk. The risk extends from part of Sumter county to Marengo, Dallas, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock and Barbour counties.

A flood watch is still in effect for many areas of the Black Belt.

The public is advised to stay up date with weather reports and take precautions as needed.
