Famed meteorologist James Spann paid a visit to Breakthrough Charter School in Marion on Thursday to speak with the fourth through sixth grade students.Â
There he spoke with students on several topics related to weather and weather preparedness.Â
Founding Head of School Darren Ramalho said, "While on campus, James Spann discussed with students the importance of weather preparedness. He taught students about different kinds of weather machinery, how to identify types of clouds, and how to identify tornados on a radar. Students wrote cards showing their appreciation for the work James Spann does to keep Alabamians safe. He was also presented with a delicious cookie cake designed by Doodle Daisy Designs. Breakthrough Charter School plans to host Mr. Spann every academic year."
