The Marion-Perry County Library had several speakers as part of a summer reading program last week.

Peter Edwards, Volunteer Fire Chief of Hamburg and his wife Elsa, and Eddie Dozier spoke to the children about fire safety and gave each child a bag full of goodies.

Following that, Justice played her trombone for the crowd and Pat taught the children that they all had their own instrument “their voice” Kim led craft time of making a sea diorama.

Dr. Michael Luther and his wife Holly let the children “practice” on their “patient” during a summer reading day. The children all enjoyed interacting with Dr. Luther. Pat played her banjolele for a sing-along and the children enjoyed a friendly competition with their newly made helicopters and they finished the day with a game of Ocean Bingo.
