Record-breaking crowd attends PCHS Alumni Association event

Alumnus of the Year went to Jim Robertson of Helena.

Nearly 300 attended the Perry County High School Alumni Association’s 28th annual meeting and fish fry on April 30.

President Diane Harrison welcomed classmates and friends, saying attendance of over 290 at the event broke a record and that lunch was being catered for the first time by a food truck. A fried catfish lunch and sides were served by South Fresh.

The group presented its highest award, Alumnus of the Year, to Jim Robertson of Helena. Robertson is an Eagle Scout, 1961 graduate of Perry County High School and alumnus of Marion Military Institute and Auburn University. He had a 36-year career in Advanced Telecommunications.
