Pickens County authorities have arrested a man in connection to alleged human trafficking and charges related to sexual abuse of a child under 12.
An announcement from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office stated that police were notified by a minor about sexual abuse that had taken place over several years.
After an investigation Jessie Bonner was arrested and charged with first degree human trafficking, sexual Abuse of a child less than 12, second degree sexual abuse and second degree sodomy.
“I am extremely proud of the men and women who worked tirelessly and diligently to investigate this case and seek justice for the victim," said Sheriff Jordan Powell. "I am equally proud of the victim for having the courage to come forward after enduring years of abuse. Their bravery made it possible to pursue accountability through the criminal justice system.”
