A ribbon cutting was held for the StoryWalk at Ida Bell Young Park in Montgomery on Oct. 17, a new feature of the Montgomery City-County Public Library.

Library staff members were joined by Chairman Doug Singleton, project leaders from Leadership Montgomery Torchbearers Class XVI, and City of Montgomery officials.

StoryWalk promotes early reading and physical activity by placing pages from books along walking paths.

A post on social media by the Montgomery County Commission said that more are planned in the future.

"Montgomery County is proud to have supported this project, and this is just the beginning!" it said. "Four more StoryWalks will be coming soon to parks across Montgomery County in the coming weeks."
