The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham is partnering with Alabama Power and rural electric cooperatives on Service to Help Alabamians with Relief on Energy or Project SHARE to help elderly or disabled residents.

Project SHARE aims to provide emergency energy assistance to these residents during the peak winter and summer months.

The program is being administered through agencies in multiple counties throughout Alabama, including the Dallas County Family Resource Center, which can be reached at 334-874-7785.

Project SHARE was first established in 1982. Eligible residents can also reach out to agencies near Dallas County in Autauga, Wilcox, Lowndes, Perry, Marengo and Chilton.

For information on how to donate or to see other counties involved, see the page for Project SHARE at the Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham's website.
