The Selma Area Food Bank has received a donation of more than 35,000 servings of chicken from Foster Farms, which announced that it would give away 2.4 million servings of poultry to food banks.

According to this report, Foster Farms has a production facility in Demopolis, as well as in Louisiana, California, Oregon and Washington. The company began donating products to food banks in order to feed those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“COVID-19 has touched the very fabric of American life,” said Foster Farms VP of Communications Ira Brill. “As a company, we have always felt a responsibility to support our communities in times of adversity. Food banks are on the front lines of ensuring that hunger is not an added result of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
