The Selma Charity League donated toys and more to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree project as part of their annual Christmas event.
The members loaded the Salvation Army truck at the Selma Country Club on Dec. 9 with bags of presents for 50 children who signed up to be part of the Angel Tree this year.
Selma Charity League President Kimberly Levins said the group of 37 members bought gifts for 25 girls and 25 boys and many members bought for two children. Items included toys, clothing, scooters and bikes.
“Our members love it,” she said.
Salvation Army Director Laura Donovan, who joined the organization in July, said the Charity League contacted her early with their plans to give back to 50 children.
“It’s been a great experience,” she said. “We will have a lot of smiling children on Christmas morning.”
