The Selma City Schools (SCS) Board of Education will honor eight finalists for 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year at a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12. 

SCS has already announced several finalists. These are: 

Cynthia Murry-Green, third grade teacher at Payne Elementary

Jasmine Pritchett, fifth grade teacher at Clark Social Justice Academy

Mallory Lovell, first grade teacher at Meadowview Elementary School

Allen Bearden, science teacher at R.B. Hudson STEAM Academy

Constance Bowie, math specialist at Saints Virtual Academy and the Alternative Learning Center

Athenia Angion, a teacher at Edgewood Elementary

Alsace Child, a teacher at Sophia P. Kingston

The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. in the Board Room on 2194 Broad Street.
