Water Avenue between Franklin Street and Mulberry Street has been closed through Friday, July 5 for the Independence Day Celebration and the Historic Downtown Street Fair.Â
The Selma Police and Code Enforcement Departments are working with vendors to place equipment for the occasion, necessitating the road closure, said an announcement on social media.Â
"Safety is our top priority, so please stay aware and adhere to all street closures," said a post on the City of Selma' Facebook page. "We want to especially thank the local business owners on Water Avenue for their willingness to work with city government to make this event possible for the residents of Selma."Â
