Selma Councilwoman Jannie Thomas is holding a toy drive for Ward 7 on Dec. 19 to provide Christmas presents for children. 

Items will be distributed to families in need at the George P. Evans Building on 2 Lawrence Street from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

"I am requesting your assistance in helping to make Christmas a little merrier for these families," Thomas said in a statement. "Please donate any amount you are comfortable with donating, no amount is too small, you may bring [donations] to me for this event." 

Anyone who wants to make a monetary donation may do so by mailing checks to the City of Selma's P.O. Box 450 with Memo: 2023 Ward 7 Toy Drive Donation.
