Selma and Eufaula are included in a list by World Atlas of most comfortable towns to move to for retirement. 

Towns were selected based on activities and "favorable" weather and amenities. 

Eufaula was noted for being a smaller location of around 13,000 residents, as well as its history and historical landmarks. Also of note were the local restaurants, particularly the Cajun Corner Restaurant and Superior Pecans & Gifts. 

The Eufaula Community Center was included for offering activities for seniors and Medical Center Barbour is closely located for healthcare. 

Selma's history was also noted, especially its role in the Civil Rights Movement. Spots such as Tally-Ho Restaurant and Riverfront Park were highlighted along with Vaughan Regional Medical Center as a healthcare provider. 

Affordable housing was also a highlight, stating that a median home value of less than $60,000, reportedly below the state average of $227,000.
