Selma Housing Authority (SHA) hosted third annual Build-A-Bed Initiative on July 19 after a break during the COVID pandemic.

"The Selma Housing Authority hosts this initiative to demonstrate its mission and to acknowledge the ongoing need to ensure quality residences for its constituents," said a press release from SHA.

"The initiative began in 2019 as a program to aid those in the Selma Housing Authority community who desire to enhance their home and need a helping hand. This initiative has become one of the housing authority’s most meaningful programs."

The initiative provides more than 100 living room and bedroom pieces to residents of SHA. The COVID pandemic caused SHA to hold off on the annual effort until recently.

“It is my hope that this initiative gifts families and individuals with the added pieces of furniture to make their living spaces into a loving home," said SHA President Kennard Randolph. "Each year, we look forward to this demonstration of hope, compassion, and opportunity.”
