The Selma High Saints faced a tough matchup on the road Friday night, falling 56-6 to Northside in a conference game in Northport.

Northside jumped out early, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead. They continued to pour it on in the second quarter with a pair of passing touchdowns, a rushing score, and a pick-six to go up 35-0 before halftime.

Selma’s lone highlight came late in the second quarter when the Saints broke through with a rushing touchdown. The two-point try was no good, leaving the score 35-6 at the break.

Northside stayed hot in the third quarter, adding three more passing touchdowns and capitalizing on a Selma fumble to extend the lead to 56-6. The fourth quarter went scoreless as both teams slowed the pace.

Despite the tough loss, Selma showed grit by pushing through until the final whistle. The Saints will look to regroup and bounce back in their next game against Demopolis on Friday.
