Strong weather is possible for a portion of the Black Belt on Monday, Jan. 8 and Tuesday, Jan. 9.

The possibility of severe weather is strongest for South Alabama but a weather system may produce supercells beginning south of the Livingston – Montgomery – Auburn line on Monday through the evening.

"Then, a fast moving line of storms will enter the western portions of the state Monday evening and exit the eastern portions Tuesday morning," said a statement from the Alabama EMA. "Damaging wind gusts from central Alabama to the coast will be possible, along with a few embedded tornadoes."

If the weather turns severe the public is advised to keep up with weather updates and take precautions as needed.
