A town hall meeting to be held a Wallace Community College Selma in January 2020 will host a panel to discuss the state of education in Alabama.
Titled “The Envisioning of Excellence in Education Town Hall Meeting,” the panel will have Selma City Schools Superintendent Avis Williams, Dallas County Schools Superintendent Hattie Shelton, and Wallace Community College, as well as parent representatives, representatives from private schools and representatives from local businesses.
A flyer for the event states that the meeting will address the economic growth of Alabama and how it has “not yet arisen to the level of excellence in education that a flourishing economy demands.
The event is sponsored by Wallace Community College Selma, Senator Malika Sanders-Fortier and the deputy senators of District 23.
The meeting will be held on Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at the theater of Wallace Community College Selma.
