Linette Casey, a University of Troy (UT) alumni from the class of 2001, was recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for her work in business involving clean energy.
Casey was recognized at the 2024 Clean Energy Education and Empowerment Awards, which was described by an announcement from UT as aiming to "close the gender gap" and recognize women in clean energy.
“DOE is honored to celebrate this year’s C3E Awardees, a remarkable group of leaders introducing groundbreaking ideas and diverse viewpoints to advance a fair and sustainable clean energy economy in America and across the world,” said U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm.
“These exceptional women are deepening our understanding of the clean energy transition and sparking innovative breakthroughs we need to build a thriving clean energy future that benefits every community.”
Casey was one of nine others to be awarded on Nov. 13 at the C3E Symposium at Stanford University in California. Her business roles include the renewable energy field, including logistics, procurement, and sales.
She is Sales Account Manager for Siemens Energy and is a graduate of the Sorrell College of Business at UT.
