Tuskegee University (TU) has closed its campus to the public and fired its head of security following the arrest of a suspect that police believe was involved in the shooting that left one dead and other injured during a homecoming celebration over the weekend.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, all visitors will be required to wear and display a badge when on campus. Additionally, anew security chief will be hired to review the incident.

Though there were security precautions implemented for events planned for the 100th homecoming event, the celebration that took place on late Sunday night was reportedly not sanctioned by the university.

TU President Mark Brown said that a "thorough" investigation and "corrective actions" would be conducted.
