Downtown Selma

United Way of Selma annual fund drive is about half way towards its goal, we are calling on residents to step up and support a network of vital services that reach deep into the heart of the community. With economic challenges mounting and demand for assistance rising, this year’s campaign carries a renewed urgency.

United Way supports 15 local nonprofit organizations that provide a wide range of services—from food and housing assistance to youth programs and crisis intervention. These agencies form a critical safety net for families and individuals across Dallas County.

Healthcare That Heals Without a Price Tag

In addition to funding partner nonprofits, United Way of Selma partners with Selma Family Medicine to operate a free medical clinic, offering essential care to uninsured and underinsured residents. The clinic provides primary care, chronic disease management. Through its partnership with HealthLink, United Way also helps patients access prescription medications they otherwise couldn’t afford.

“Selma is a city with deep roots and resilient people,” said Jeff Cothran Executive Director of United Way. “But resilience needs resources. Every contribution helps us keep these services alive and accessible.”

Why Giving Matters Now More Than Ever

With inflation affecting household budgets and healthcare access still out of reach for many, the need for community support has never been greater.

United Way encourages donations through its website, by mail, or via workplace campaigns. Every dollar goes directly toward sustaining programs that make a real difference in people’s lives.
