Veterans Day service in Selma honors area's large number who served in the military

American Legion Post 20 member Raymond Cook played Taps in honor of POWMIA and others who never made it home at the 2024 ceremony.

Selma’s American Legion Post 20 hosts its annual Veteran's Day program on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Stadium in Selma.

Guest speaker is Lt. Col. (Retired, US Air Force) Jim Lawrence from Opp, Alabama.

The Southside & Selma HS JROTC Colorguard will be present and combined Choirs from Selma High & R.B. Hudson.

The American Legion Boys & Girls State winners from local school will be there also.

There will be a hotdog lunch provided free by the Selma Rotary Club.
