Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS) was among others to be awarded a grant to support trucking programs for women.

The grant is a $1.2 million investment from the Women's Foundation of Alabama. Benefitting is the WCCS' Women in Trucking A CDL Truck Driving Program.

"Empowering women in the trucking industry is a step towards fostering economic growth and creating diverse opportunities," said WCCS's social media. "We're proud to be part of this initiative, and we can't wait to see the positive impact it will have on the lives and careers of aspiring women truck drivers."

46 programs and organizations were given grants in 44 counties throughout Alabama.
