Wallace Community College Selma and Trenholm State Community College in Montgomery are both part of a $500,000 grant to support Historically Black Colleges or HBCUs.

According to WSFA, the grants are being administered by the ECMC Foundation and Alabama Possible. Eight HBCUs in Alabama are benefiting from the funds.

Alabama Possible Executive Director Chandra Scott states in the story that it is hoped that the grant will help in increasing enrollment and completion.

Funds will also go to educational and technological tools, as well as resources for mental health, transportation and others.
