Winter came to Dallas County this week, with more cold temps expected

Areas of Dallas County saw snow on Sunday, including Paul Grist State Park.

Dallas County got a taste of winter on Sunday with some flurries and a small accumulation of snow in some parts, and winter isn’t done making itself known this week.

Residents shared photos on social media of their short-lived snow experiences on Sunday and winter stayed in Dallas County this week with temperatures at or around freezing overnight several nights.

Some forecasts are hinting at another chance of freezing rain Thursday night and Friday before noon.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will drop Thursday afternoon into the evening with a rain chance of 80 percent. After 3 a.m. Friday, there is a 20 percent chance of freezing rain with a low around 32. The freezing rain could continue through noon.

Temperatures won’t leave the 20s at night this weekend, with highs of 27, 25 and 23 expected on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, respectively.
